I wish they’d gone with the House version for funding, but the compromise you describe seems reasonable — it isn’t the "union daddies" but union rank-and-file who benefit from the change to taxing "cadillac" plans.

Then there was the "Cornhusker Kickback" which they used to buy Ben Nelson’s vote for over $100 million. AND NOW they have made a special deal ("Labor Loophole") to exempt organized labor from the new excise tax on "cadillac" plans. If you happen to be in the middle class and own one of these plans BUT AREN"T in labor union……..tough sh*t. And of course Obama flip-flopped on almost every single substantive campaign promise he made as a candidate with regards to healthcare. (1 Transparency, 2 Individual Mandates, 3 Taxes on Cadillac Plans)
